An executive from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Jonathan Chou has worked in executive management for a number of organizations around the world for more than 30 years. Jonathon Chou recently served as CFO of UTAC Holdings Ltd., a provider of test and assembly services for a wide range of semiconductor chips.
Mr. Chou has worked with several companies over the years, including Kulicke & Soffa (Interim CEO/CFO/CIO), Lucent Technologies, Inc. (CFO/Managing Director Treasury), Tyco International, Inc. (CFO), and Honeywell International (CFO Asia Pacific). He has served in banking, regional finance leadership, and executive roles. He specializes in private equity and IPOs in the US.
One of his most notable career achievements was closing Australia’s largest project financing deal for a telecommunications project. He also was named to CFO World Magazine’s China’s Top 10 CFOs list in 2008. He consolidated Lucent Bell Lab’s Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, moving it from Hong Kong to Singapore. He also successfully helped a Sequoia Capital PE Portfolio get listed on the Main Board of the New York Stock Exchange. In addition, he considerably increased Kulicke & Soffa’s profitability and market capitalization. More recently, he was instrumental in helping UTAC achieve record sales and cash flow.
His community involvement includes serving with the Children’s Heart Foundation in Hong Kong, the Duke Alumni Association, and the Fuqua School Advisory Board. In 2020, he received the Charles A. Dukes Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, which recognizes the recipient's long-term dedication to helping the university achieve its mission.
